The Stree Swabhiman Yojana has been started by the Central Government and this scheme has been inaugurated by the Union Minister Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad during the CSC Women VLE (Villege Level Entrepreneur) program.

Under the Stree Swabhiman Yojana 2021 , sanitary napkins will be provided to the girls and women of the country so that women and girls can remain healthy during their menstrual cycle. Today through this article we are going to provide you all the information related to this scheme like application process, eligibility etc.

The government has started the Stree Swabhiman Yojana 2021 to provide good health and hygiene to the girls and women of both urban and rural areas of the country. Under this scheme, the new pads provided by CSC are more eco-friendly and quite cheap. So that more and more women and girls will be able to buy them at the least price. All the women of the country will be able to take advantage of this Stree Swabhiman Yojana through CSC.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (METE) has launched the Stree Swabhiman Yojana initiative. Subsequently, this is a unique initiative by CSCs to ensure good health and hygiene for women. Accordingly, the Central Government will launch it on the occasion of National Convention for Women VLEs. Under this scheme, the government will provide eco-friendly menstrual pads to women.

What is Stree Swabhiman Yojana

As per the new initiative, the central government aims to distribute sanitary pads among women and girls in rural and remote areas of the country. The objective of the central government is to create awareness programs among the women and girls of the nation so that they can be related to their health and well being at the time of menstrual cycle.

The central government aims to create awareness among other people in the society, especially entrepreneurs that the maintenance and installation process is also very simple and easy.

It is also clear that under this new drive a production unit will be set up which will also help in generating employment opportunities for more than 10 women.

The Central Government has also ensured that at present there are 15 such production units which have been set up across the country for low cost investment. You have been set up by low investment schemes as per the statements made by the central government.

The new campaigns and initiatives will be implemented by the central government in coordination with CSCs (Common Service Centres). The entire project will be implemented at the grassroots level within the country.

The central government has also said that the new pads manufactured by CSCs will be more eco-friendly and cheaper. This initiative will provide access to sanitary napkins to girls and women in rural areas.

Accordingly, this move of the central government will improve the awareness about menstrual health and hygiene. In addition, the installation and maintenance of the semi-automatic and manual process production unit is easy and hassle-free. In addition, each production unit will generate employment for 8-10 women

Presently, around 15 low cost sanitary napkin manufacturing units are present across the country. So, the central government wants that more people should be involved for this cause.

Under this scheme, sanitary napkins will be provided to the women of the country by CSC at affordable rates and free service will be provided to the girls.

Through this scheme, women are empowered and sanitary. Women and girls can remain healthy and clean through napkins. Employment of women will also be provided through this Stree Swabhiman Yojana 2021 .

Key Information about Stree Swabhiman Yojana

Through this scheme, awareness related to menstruation will be provided to rural girl students so that the use of sanitary napkins can be increased among rural girl students.
Under Stree Swabhiman Yojana, sanitary napkins will be sold under local brand names and will be marketed by VLEs.
This scheme will provide livelihood to about 35000 women.
Through this scheme, women and girls will be provided awareness related to menstruation so that they can promote their cleanliness.
Under Stree Swabhiman Yojana, 750 to 1000 sanitary napkins will be produced daily.
Through this scheme free sanitary napkins will be provided by VLE to the school girls.
These sanitary napkins can also be obtained through CSC center.
₹500 per year will be provided by CSC to VLE for one girl child.
The verification of the number of beneficiaries will be done through the principal of the school.
Sanitary pads will be distributed through village schools for about 1000 girls through VLE
